Stress - even the word itself can make you feel stressed doesn’t it!

So, how do you get stressed? How often do you even use or think the word stress? How
often does it pop into your head?

‘I’m stresed!!’ You tell yourself – and no doubt about it you are!

How often do you hear it from other people – from friends, work colleagues, family? And
even if it’s not said you can see it on their faces, you can hear it in their voices. Some say we’
re in the middle of a stress epidemic, I believe they are right.

I even feel stressed writing this for you...‘Oh the pressure, what if you don’t  find these tips
useful’ – ‘I don’t have the time to write them’ – ‘I have lots of things to do’  – ‘I’m hungry’ – ‘I
have a meeting to go to now’ – Stress - stress – stress’….

STOP!
Hang on – hang on. Backup. Calm down, try and – reeeeelaaaaaaax now.

Seem familiar? We’ve all been there, we’ve all been stressed – who hasn’t, it’s a natural part
of life is it not? Maybe you’re even stressed now?

But stress can’t be all bad can it? It can often serve us as a call to action, to get things done,
perhaps giving us adrenaline to escape danger, but the trouble is we don’t need it
constantly, there are no prehistoric animals around – perhaps our boss or taxman maybe -
but no Saber-toothed tigers to run from!

I think we can all admit stress is sometimes just too much - too intense, never-ending and not
only non-productive but worse still counter-productive to our emotional and physical health.

We all know stress doesn’t help your health, your blood-pressure, your heart as it pounds
away because you’re furious you’re stuck in traffic. But often we can’t stop it.

Does it help by worrying about something that may or may not happen? Does too much
stress help you do your best at work or your work load? Pay the bills? Do I hear a no! No?

So, the secret is what can we do about it when it’s too much, when we can’t control it, when it’
s beyond motivating us to take positive action or escape from danger?

The answer of course is EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques.
